Pearce strikes twice as Avonmouth put four past Gifford

Avonmouth took a 16th-minute lead when good work from Kyle O’Donovan and Jack Williams set up Josh Pearce to smash the ball past Oli Gargett.

Gifford were sparked into action and Jordan Iwhiwhu’s shot hit the bar. Gifford again hit the bar with ten minutes of the half remaining from Spike Weaver’s 20-yard shot.

Three minutes into the second half, O’Donovan played in Pearce, who fired into the top corner via the crossbar.

Cody Winkler fired home Avonmouth’s third goal from 20 prodded home the fourth in the closing stages.

Little Stoke lost 5-4 to Hardwicke in an action-packed game at Little Stoke Park, after it had been 2-2 at half-time.

Ethan Moore (2), Josh Hull and Nathan Brown struck for Little Stoke.

Ethan Wilkins capitalise­d on an Almonds defensive mistake to round Sam Burgess and put the ball in the net for a 24th-minute lead. However, the visitors rescued a point via Matthew Toghill’s 65th-minute equaliser.

It also finished 1-1 between Bromley Heath United and Rockleaze Rangers at Pomphrey Hill. Drew Sawdon gave Rockleze a first-half lead, but James Fenton equalised with a fine solo effort in the 70th minute.

In the Les James League Cup, Hanham Athletic won 5-0 at Gala Wilton to book a place in the final.

Hanham took a fifth-minute lead when Karim Rendall slotted past Oscar Bignell. On 10 minutes it was two, with Jacob Saunders scoring from the spot after a foul in the box.

A superb strike from Rendall made it 3-0 in the 51st minute. Brandon Barnes added the fourth in the 69th minute, and Rendall completed his hat-trick with a penalty.
