THRILL-SEEKERS hoping to take on Alton Towers’ Wicker Man ride are in for a spook-tacular time as the rollercoaster opens up for the first time at night.

New frights and family delights have been unveiled for this year’s Scarefest at the theme park – including the first night ride for the resort’s £16 million attraction.

A spokesperson for Alton Towers said in a Facebook post: “Are you ready to be chosen?”

It reads “For the first time, feed Wicker Man’s flames as they light up the night sky until 9pm during the UK’s ultimate Halloween event... Be chosen to experience #WickerManRide in the dark this Scarefest!”

The six-storey wooden rollercoaster is the first ride of its kind to open in the UK in the last 20 years.

Open until 9pm each day, Scarefest at Alton Towers also gives guests the chance to go on rides in the dark including Nemesis and the Smiler.

A new CBeebies Land Monster Ball also awaits families as they get the chance to have some scary fun with their favourite CBeebies friends.
