ALDI is looking to recruit new area managers across Derbyshire – and successful applicants could earn up to £75,000 a year.

The German-owned supermarket giant is hunting ambitious graduates who have just left university and have a keen interest in retail management.

Area managers for the budget chain will be responsible for managing and maintaining multiple branches across Derbyshire.

They are expected to manage and develop stores and their teams, as well as ensuring each store is meeting sales targets while liaising with the wider business to carry out new initiatives.

The role is fast-paced and varied, so bosses say it’s important that candidates are “hard-working, driven and eager to learn”.

Those looking to apply for the area manager programme must have a 2:1 degree in any subject area – but there are two entry routes based on experience.

Graduates can enter the programme straight from university and receive a salary of £44,000 – which rises to £75,360 after four years.

But those looking for a change of career who have previously managed a team before can enter on a year two salary of £51,760, which rises to £75,360 after three years.

The graduate area manager programme is 12 months of intense training, during which successful applicants are given the necessary training required to successfully manage a regional workforce.

They can also work side-by-side with store and regional distribution centre teams to immerse themselves in head office operations.

At the end of the year-long training, area managers are given full responsibility for operations in up to four stores.

Colin Breslin, regional managing director at Aldi, said: “We offer our area managers great benefits, from market leading pay and an Audi A4 as a company car, to opportunities to progress ithrough initiatives such as international secondment.”
