BEST OF THE REST
WOULD I LIE TO YOU?
BBC1, 9.30pm
ONE of the funniest panel shows on the box, this award-winning comedy returns for a new series.
As ever, Rob Brydon is the host, with Lee Mack and David Mitchell as the lightning-quick captains as teams try to lie their way to a win.
This week the guests are former England football player Dion Dublin, TV performer Debbie McGee, comedian Bob Mortimer and actress and writer Lucy Porter. There’s plenty to muse over. Is it true that police surrounded Debbie’s house after she set off the alarm while doing the ironing in her bikini? Did Dion once set off the airbag in his car with a sneeze?
True or false, it makes for lots of laughs.

FROM Matthew Weiner, the creator of hit series Mad Men, comes this sumptuous and dramatic anthology series.
Each episode is a standalone feature, a story of people who claim to be descendants of the Russian royal family, who were executed in 1918.
In the first episode, Greg Moffat (Aaron Eckhart) is an American who helps run a small hotel in Paris. He and his girlfriend Sophie are desperately hoping and waiting for Greg’s horrible aunt Anushka (Marthe Keller) to die so that Greg will inherit her history-filled apartment.
Anushka wants to keep the place in the family, but wants assurance that the family bloodline won’t die out.
This is a lavish family saga that makes some political points, with plenty of drama too.
