GUYS And Dolls was ranked in the Top 10 of Rolling Stone magazine’s best musicals of all time and tops Entertainment Weekly’s list of the greatest musicals. And it’s the latest production by Good Companions Stage Society at Derby Theatre from November 6 to 10.

It’s the tale of Nathan Detroit, who needs a small fortune to keep his permanent floating card game going – but he is running out of luck and time. Nathan thinks all his problems have been solved when he makes a rigged bet with highroller Sky Masterson to take a “doll” to Havana. The “doll” in question is uptight evangelist Sarah Brown.

The musical, Damon Runyon’s famous tale of small-time hoods and showgirls, moves from the bustle of Times Square to the dance clubs of Havana. Songs include Luck Be A Lady, I’ve Never Been In Love Before and Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ The Boat.
