Theme park set to unveil Dungeon ride
LOGO CLUE TO NEW ATTRACTION AT ALTON TOWERS
ALTON Towers Resort has unveiled plans for its latest project.
The Alton Towers Dungeon logo has recently appeared on the theme park’s website – teasing the new attraction, and has sparked a number of theories among fans.
The Dungeons – a collection of tourist attractions of which there are now 10 worldwide – are based on the scary and often horrible history of their locations.
The Alton Towers Dungeon would be the sixth of its kind in the UK, after London, Blackpool, Edinburgh, Warwick and York.
Speculation on fan forum Tower Times has seen many ideas for what features the new attraction might include. One user, with the screen name Justin, wrote: “The Warwick Castle one takes about 45 minutes to an hour. I can see something similar.
“There may be four shows, a labyrinth maze and boat-ride experience. The Dungeons will add another dimension to the park.”
Others are trying to work out whether the Alton Towers Dungeon will be a free or paid-for attraction.
A fan with the screen name Dan, wrote: “It’ll be on the theme park, likely following a similar operational method as the Dungeons at War- wick Castle. VIP and premium passholders will go through for free but will have to reserve a time slot, whereas standard pass-holders and day ticket guests will have to pay a small charge.”
A spokesperson for Alton Towers Resort said: “We can confirm that a new attraction, the Alton Towers Dungeon, will be coming to the Resort for 2019. More details will follow soon.”
