Please work quietly... we are in church, after all

-

A FORMER church has released photos of how employees could look sitting on pews if their firm takes over an usual space on the balcony.

The converted former George Street Methodist Church was later known as Trinity Church before it closed down.

It was turned into a cafe and business centre four years ago and is now renting out its balcony in what could be a unique business venture.

In images released by the building’s owners, 3D images of people with laptops sitting on church pews can be seen, with views to the ground floor, which houses the cafe and several other businesses.

The church, which closed in 2014 due to a dwindling congregation, was constructed in 1860 and the building still contains its original tiered balcony of pews upstairs.

Commercial estate agents Rushton Hickman is now marketing the gallery for business use.

It is “particularly suitable” for creative, marketing or tech companies, the marketing report says.

The accommodation has a net internal floor area of approximately 1,800 sq ft (167.2 sq m).

The property has been recently refurbished to create a gallery seating and working area, with 12 double workstations which can seat up to 24 people, in addition to eight separate seating stations.

There is a large “breakout area” in front of a stunning stained glass window. Additionally, there are two private glass offices.

The rent is £19,950 a year.
