STRICTLY: THE BEST OF MUSICALS Tonight, BBC1, 8.10pm

TONIGHT, we celebrate arguably the glitziest themed night of them all – Strictly’s annual Musicals Week. Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman are joined by judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas and Bruno Tonioli, along with the cast of profession­als and a few special guests to remember captivatin­g West End and Broadway-themed routines, and explosive pro numbers.

MICHAEL PALIN: TRAVELS OF A LIFETIME

Tomorrow, BBC2, 8pm

IN THIS new four-part series the former Monty Python star and all-round good egg describes his past triumphs. The opening episode takes us back to 1988 when filming began on his first TV jaunt, which saw him follow in the fictional footsteps of Phileas Fogg by going Around the World in 80 Days. There are memorable moments to relive, while fans and friends, including David Attenborou­gh, Joanna Lumley and Simon Reeve, discuss Palin’s achievemen­ts.

IN THE FACE OF TERROR Monday, BBC2, 9pm

EACH episode of this new three-part series tells the story of the ordinary people searching for truth and justice following terrorist atrocities.

The final programme will focus on the aftermath of the attack carried out on two mosques in Christchur­ch, New Zealand last year. Before that, the families of British and American hostages held in Syria by a terror cell dubbed ‘the Beatles’, discuss what happened to their loved ones.

They also reveal their tireless efforts to find their relatives during one of the most moving programmes of the year.

ALISON HAMMOND: BACK TO SCHOOL

Tuesday, ITV, 9pm

NO MATTER how long it is since you were in a classroom, if you went to school in Britain, your history lessons probably at least touched on the Romans, Tudors, Victorians or the First World War. But it’s less likely that you were taught about the role that black figures played during those eras. Now, This Morning’s Alison Hammond is going on a school trip with a difference as she uncovers some untold stories from the time periods and brings a new perspectiv­e to Britain’s past.

Wednesday, BBC1, 9pm

IT’S payday weekend for millions of Londoners and 30 minutes into the night shift, police request urgent assistance at the scene of a stabbing.

Sadly the patient is pronounced dead on scene, leaving Pete to explain how dealing with traumatic incidents impacts on him.

Across town, Josh and Vinny have been dispatched to their first patient of the night – a woman who’s collapsed in a casino. But to reach her, they must navigate Leicester Square which is thronged with revellers.

THE TRUTH ABOUT YOUR SANDWICH

Thursday, Channel 4, 8pm BRITAIN’S sandwich industry is worth a whopping £8bn a year, but Helen Skelton believes some of the major chains’ practices leave a bad taste.

In this documentar­y, she investigat­es shocking hygiene conditions at a major sandwich retailer, while testing reveals that we shouldn’t always trust the nutritiona­l levels advertised on your high-street food.

Dirty conditions at major production plants are also exposed as the programme reveals how cuts to hospital and food inspection budgets could be putting the public at risk.

THE GRAHAM NORTON SHOW Friday, BBC1, 10.45pm

FRIDAY nights just aren’t the same without Graham Norton, so it’s good to have him back, albeit with a socially-distanced sofa of guests.

This week, Hollywood star Ewan Mcgregor discusses being back on the road for his latest travelogue Long Way Up, dancer and presenter Ashley Banjo promotes the new Diversity tour Connected, while music superstar Miley Cyrus chats and performs her current single
