Sunshine drew hundreds to hospital club’s annual show
GLORIOUS sunshine greeted visitors to Burton Hospital Staff Club’s 22nd annual flower and vegetable show in August 2001.
The event attracted 65 exhibitors for the flower, vegetable, cake and wine classes, and the quality of entries can clearly vbe seen from the Burton Mail archive pictures.
The show took place on bank holiday Monday at the club on Belvedere Road and was attended by 250 people. Along with the exhibits there were charity stalls and a Punch and Judy show.
One of the show’s organisers, Pam Appleby, said: “The weather was beautiful and we had a wonderful time.”
