Cash boost will help struggling families
COUNCILLOR HANDS OVER £300 TO COMMUNITY GROUP
A BURTON charity foundation which helps struggling families has received a much-needed cash boost to continue its vital work.
County councillor Syed Hussain has handed over £300 from his allocation for good causes from Staffordshire County Council to
Monica Dunbar and her team at the Loveinspire Foundation in Burton.
It comes as the group has seen a sharp rise in appeals for help from families finding it hard during the pandemic.
The Loveinspire Foundation, in New Street, helps families living in poverty in the town with services such as a crisis prevention helpline, school uniform hand-outs and gives out food parcels for those struggling to put food on the table. Pre-covid it also ran free halfterm activity programmes.
Councillor Hussain said: “The Loveinspire Foundation do an amazing job supporting families in all areas of Burton who are struggling in whatever way.
“The money will go towards buying essentials for the families who are struggling and I would like to congratulate Monica and her team for the work they are doing.
“The team at the Loveinspire Foundation are amazing and their support and affection towards helping others does not go unnoticed.
“These unprecedented times have taught us all the importance of services like the Loveinspire Foundation and for them to continue providing this service, we all need to do our bit to support them.”
Ms Dunbar, founder of the charity, said: “The cash donation from Syed, on behalf of Staffordshire County Council, is very helpful to us and will go a long way in providing basic essentials for a lot of families in and around Burton.
“We have seen a rapid rise in those requiring our services throughout the pandemic and it’s good to see people seeing that help is required.
“Any donation, big or small is greatly accepted as it can help support a number of families and that is the most important thing, so again thank you to Syed and Staffordshire County Council for their support.”
