‘DON’T DROP YOUR GUARD OVER VACCINE PROSPECT’
A CONTROVERSIAL petition calling for people who refuse any Covid19 vaccine to face no restrictions has been signed by hundreds in and around Burton.
The petition on the Government website has reached 201,894 signatures – and rising.

pledged their support.
The petition foreword reads: “I want the Government to prevent any restrictions being placed on those who refuse to have any potential Covid-19 vaccine.
“This includes restrictions on travel, social events, such as concerts or sports. No restrictions whatsoever.
“You cannot force someone to have a vaccination, and should not be able to coerce them into it by way of restrictions.
“We have the right to assess the risk ourselves as we have done in the past.”
The petition has passed the threshold to force Parliament to consider a debate on the matter, which is 100,000 signatures.
It comes after, last week, a new potential vaccine emerged produced by pharmaceutical giant Pfizer.
The firm said it had been 90 per cent effective in preventing people contracting Covid-19.
A national debate has emerged in which thousands of people appear to be unwilling to take the vaccine if it is approved after further testing.
Among common reasons are scepticism over its potential effects on vulnerable people, claims Covid is rarely serious for non-vulnerable people and a conspiracy theory that it will involve injecting a microchip into patients.
