Jade Pearson, New Talent Manager at Severn Trent said: “We’re really fortunate that despite the ongoing pandemic and the position we still find ourselves in, we’ve been able to offer some amazing opportunities for people to join us across a range of wonderful and exciting programmes.

“We know that others are in a different position than ourselves, so we feel very lucky that we’re still able to create these roles, and help support our communities by offering such a diverse range of opportunities for people.”

The New Talent programmes have created over 70 new positions in the company, that include apprenticeship schemes in, marketing and communications, agriculture, health and safety, project management, as well as, accountancy, security and resilience, technical operations and HR.

The company is also offering graduate placements in finance, business leadership and digital engineering, with undergraduate placements on offer across its idyllic visitor sites.

To help bring its programmes to life, the New Talent teams have also been hosting and running online ‘Severn Trent Empowered’ events, speaking with potential candidates who can hear first-hand from current apprentices and graduates about life at Severn Trent, with senior leaders sharing their own career stories. Through these events, there’s already 1,000 people who have registered an interest in one of the

Jade said: “We had to adapt how we reach out to people about our amazing schemes on offer, so the online events have been a fantastic way to really bring what we’re saying to life and give potential new joiners a true feel for who we are and what we do.

“By bringing new talent into our company, we’re excited to welcome people from all walks of life and backgrounds, to really help improve what we do best, which is delivering for and looking after our customers.

“We were able to celebrate a great number of our new talent trainees completing their programmes last year despite the pandemic kicking off, and we’re delighted that our newest apprentices and graduates have now settled into their new careers with us. “We really want people to take the time to check out what we have, and with such a vast set of diverse programmes, there really is something for everyone.”
