Wayne hopes Ravel finds club
FORMER Manchester United youngster Ravel Morrison revealed he is in talks with Championship and Laliga clubs over his next move, The Sun has reported.
This sparked renewed speculation on social media that Derby
County could be interested in the 28-year-old free agent.
Derby were linked with the player in January, while reports claimed Nottingham Forest and Huddersfield Town had “expressed an interest”.
We reported last month that the Rams were unlikely to move for Morrison and had other targets in the transfer window.
They eventually made five loan signings, in Teden Mengi, Lee Gregory, George Edmundson, Patrick Roberts and Beni Baningime.
Rams manager Wayne Rooney knows Morrison from his time at Old Trafford and is a big admirer of the player’s talent as an attacking midfielder. But asked after the Rams’ away win against Wycombe Wanderers on Tuesday night if Derby are looking at Morrison, Rooney said: “I think I am happy with the squad I have got. We have a good squad of players.
“I hope Ravel finds a club which he deserves because he is a fantastic player and I wish him all the best.”
Morrison is a free agent after his contract with Dutch club ADO Den Haag was terminated by mutual agreement last month.
The former England Under-21 international started out at Manchester United and has also had spells with West Ham United, Birmingham City, Queens Park Rangers, Cardiff City, Lazio, Sheffield United, Middlesbrough and Ostersund.
