Gareth fuming over late winner
WYCOMBE Wanderers boss Gareth Ainsworth highlighted two decisions that went “horrendously” against his side as Derby County secured a lastgasp win at Adams Park.
Andre Wisdom scored in added time to earn three points for the Rams but Ainsworth was fuming that the winner was allowed to stand, saying Colin Kazim-richards was obstructing Chairboys goalkeeper Ryan Allsop from an offside position when Wisdom hit the ball.
That was not the only moment that frustrated the Wycombe boss. Before Derby opened the scoring, Daryl Horgan had the ball in the net for the hosts but it was ruled out for offside, a decision Ainsworth disagreed with.
“People will say ‘It’s Wycombe Wanderers’ manager, they’re a small club, they shouldn’t be in the Championship and blah, blah, blah,’ but if they were to look at some of the decisions that have come against us, they would be astounded,” said Ainsworth.
“I don’t really have to pick them (the players) up. I just have to tell them about the performance because there were two moments in the game where the decisions have gone horrendously against us.
“I am talking about the winning goal. If Kazim-richards isn’t offside and interfering with play, then I don’t know what constitutes as interfering with play.
“And the Daryl Horgan incident in the first half ....
“I can’t wait to get them ready for Saturday as they feel aggrieved and I am looking forward to unleashing them, as we are ready to scrap and fight.”
