NEW LIST FOR STAFFORDSHIRE

A NEW list of Covid hotspot locations has been released as public health chiefs continue their efforts to get the virus under control.

The areas that have seen the biggest increase in cases of late, according to Staffordshire County Council, have been identified and are listed below.

And people living and working there are being urged to get tested, whether or not they have any symptoms.

Residents who have to be out and about on a regular basis across the county are also being advised to get tested regularly.

Walk-in appointments at the sites, which are listed at the bottom of this article, are not guaranteed.

Therefore, booking a rapid flow test online on the Staffordshire County Council community testing sites is advised.

Failing that, a “traditional” test can be booked online at www.nhs.uk/ coronavirus, where people should choose the option “my council has asked me to book a test”.

Anyone with symptoms should only book a test through the national route.

Anyone self-isolating as a close contact of someone who has tested positive should only book a test if they develop symptoms. This should be through the national system only.

The hotspot locations in East Staffordshire are Abbey, Anglesey, Branston, Churnet, Eton Park, Horninglow, Shobnall, Stapenhill and Winshill.

In Lichfield they are Boley Park, Boney Hay & Central, Chasetown and Curborough.

The nearest community testing centres are Hillfield House, Hillfield Lane, Burton, and Lichfield City FC, Brownsfield Road, Eastern Avenue, Lichfield.
