Youngsters can get back in the swing this summer at school summer camp
LOCKDOWN is being eased, and the good news for children is that an independent school with a 140-acre campus has announced an initiative that promotes activity, challenges and, most importantly, lots of fun.
Following months of Covid restrictions, Abbotsholme School in Rocester has said it is to host a summerlong camp aimed at children aged from five to 18.
Pro-@active will offer a range of activity “tracks” at various ability levels which, the school hopes, will offer something for everyone.
So if your child or children want to have a go at rafting, horse riding, rock climbing, “mad science”, cricket, hockey and more, the Abbotsholme camp sounds just right.
Each track is designed to be fun, engaging and hands-on and utilises Abbotsholme’s array of on-site facilities.
The school said: “Our team of fully-trained staff will ensure that each child gets the maximum out of their experience and not only make a lot of new friends during their time with us, but also develop their skills too!”
Each track runs from Monday to Friday and, in addition, the school’s boarding houses will be open for anyone attending aged 10, and above allowing children the opportunity to make even more friends as they stay for their week of activities.
Headmaster Simon Ruscoeprice said: “During the last year, there is no doubt that the lockdown restrictions will have taken their toll, both mentally and physically on our children and young adults. Of course, this has been unavoidable, but nonetheless, I am very mindful that children and young adults need to be active, challenged and just get out there and have some fun.
“Here at Abbotsholme, we are very privileged to have fantastic facilities and acres of land. So we have decided to make this available to all, by offering a summer camp – “Pro-@ctive” residential camp.”
