Easter eggs and vaccines go together

-

THE Easter bank holiday provides an opportunity to wind down, but it does not mean the Covid vaccination programme in Burton is stopping.

Vaccination centres will be operating to make the most of available supplies and you can book a vaccination if you are in one of the eligible groups.

The East Staffordshire vaccination site at the Pirelli Stadium has patients booked in for today, Easter Saturday and Sunday. Other sites across Staffordshire and Stoke will also be jabbing.

Chris Laing, of the vaccination centre, said: “We will still be helping to protect our communities against Covid. We may break out the Easter eggs at some point but work won’t stop.

“The priority for us is still to vaccinate people when we have vaccine to give and patients with appointments. We really couldn’t do this without our volunteers or our hosts here at the stadium.”

Dr Paddy Hannigan, clinical lead for the vaccination programme, said: “We will continue protecting people for every day that we are able to.

“This is another opportunity to thank our staff and volunteers who are making this vaccination programme happen.

“We are continuing to prioritise anyone aged over 50, people who are clinically vulnerable because of a health condition, health and care workers and people who have caring responsibilities.”

If you are unable to book an appointment online you can call 119.
