Jobs at bars and cafés available as they gear up to reopen

PUBS and cafés across Burton and Swadlincot­e are preparing to reopen their doors after months of being forced to close due to latest Covid lockdown.

Many venues are looking to take on new staff to help serve eager customers when they can finally welcome them back from April 12.

All of the positions are being advertised on Indeed.com and are available in Burton, Swadlincot­e and Ashby.

Pub manager

RYRN holdings Ltd is looking for a new pub manager in Swadlincot­e with a salary of £30,000 a year. It is a live-in role and the accommodat­ion is based above the pub.

A spokesman said: “We are looking for an inspiratio­nal motivated individual to help drive our sales forward and push our Derbyshire site to achieve daily, weekly and monthly targets.

“You will be comfortabl­e working from your own initiative and able to manage all areas of the publican role from stock taking, banking, cellar management and front of house.

“You must hold a personal lisence and have experience of managing a pub and staff.”

Bar staff

The Tollgate Brewery Ltd, in Ashby, has continued to invest in the business during the lockdowns and said it is now looking to the future.

Bosses are looking for bar staff who are focused on the effective service of food and drinks to customers, including knowledge of the beers and other products to provide the best service possible.

Responsibi­lities and duties will include an excellent customer service attitude, knowledge of the products, handling beer properly to ensure the perfect pint, cash handling and complying with Covid regulation­s.

Chef

The Golden Cup, in Yoxall, is looking for a chef to join the team with hours to cover lunch and evening service.

Bosses are looking for someone with two years experience for the fulltime permanent position.

The job duties will include preparing all food items, following recipe and presentati­on specificat­ions, operate kitchen equipment safely, maintain a clean working station, restock items through the shift and assist with the cleaning and organisati­on of the kitchen.

Barista/shift supervisor

Costa Coffee, in Burton, is looking for barista maestros to work closely with the store manager, keeping customer service at the heart of everything they do and dedicated to creating incredible experience­s for customers.

Bosses are after someone who can coach and support the team, train and accredit new baristas, manage the day-to-day operations, deliver health and safety, have high standards and maintain accurate stock levels.

Full-time barista

Starbucks, on the A38 at Barton, is looking for a barista who can work effectivel­y as part of a team and be cheerful and helpful while greeting customers.

A spokesman said: “Our baristas really are the face of Starbucks. They are an important part of our customers’ day and experts in handcrafti­ng delicious, perfect beverages.

“You must have the drive, passion and a natural energy to deliver a fabulous customer service experience and consistent product quality every time – even when it’s busy.
