High-end spa retreat has a £14m makeover

Hoar Cross Hall is preparing to welcome back guests from May 17, and has updated its rooms from its previous revamp in 2018

A LUXURY spa in East Staffordsh­ire has undergone a £14 million facelift and will fully reopen next month, it has been revealed.

Hoar Cross Hall is set to reopen to all guests from May 17 when Covid restrictio­ns are eased further.

While its day-spa treatments and outdoor dining reopened on Monday, April 12 in line with the lifting of a raft of government restrictio­ns, from May, guests will be able to make the most of the new spa menu, as well as taking overnight stays and pamper breaks.

The Barons Eden-owned hotel and spa is one of Europe’s largest and most luxurious spas, set in a 150-year-old property with 97 bedrooms, three restaurant­s, awardwinni­ng full-service spa – all of which have received significan­t makeovers.

The hotel has updated its decor, with each bedroom showcasing its own classic aesthetic and quirky modern details – some even include extra features, such as freestandi­ng baths overlookin­g the rolling grounds and hot tubs located on private exterior terraces, said a spokesman.

The 85,000sq ft spa has also seen a number of improvemen­ts, including new treatments perfect for a girly weekend or a romantic retreat.

Brand new for 2021, the Royal Suite Experience offers up to eight guests the undivided attention of their very own private butler, tempting cocktails served by the suite’s personal barman, as well as an overnight stay in Hoar Cross Hall’s most opulent suite.

Visitors to the experience will also enjoy fine dining in the hotel’s Grand Ballroom and full use of the extensive spa facilities including the saltwater vitality pool, hydrothera­py pool, aqua detox, aqua massage, sensory showers, cold plunge pool, Nordic Heat & Ice Suite, with a collection of ten heated rooms, snooze room and sanctum.

There will also be the opportunit­y to experience expert-led treatments from the comfort of the Royal Suite’s private treatment room.
