Hunt for Audi driver after cyclist is left seriously injured
POLICE are hunting an Audi driver after a cyclist was left with “lifechanging injuries” on a busy South Derbyshire road.
Officers say the driver passed the cyclist too closely as he rode towards Overseal from Castle Gresley on the A444.
As a result, they say, the cyclist lost his balance approaching the roundabout for Albert Village and Linton and fell off his bike.
A Derbyshire Constabulary spokesman said: “Officers investigating a road traffic incident are appealing for information to assist with identifying the driver of a car which was travelling on the A444.
“On Wednesday, March 17 at around 4pm, a cyclist was travelling on the road towards Overseal from Castle Gresley.
“When he approached the roundabout for Albert Village and Linton, a car attempted to pass him too closely and as a result he lost balance and fell off.
“When the cyclist attempted to speak to the female driver she put her window up and drove off.
“The car is described as a black
Audi and the driver is described as white and had long hair. There was a child in the front passenger seat.”
