AN EARLY-1900S period detached house that has undergone a full refurbishment is on the market in East Staffordshire.

The three-storey home is up for sale in Bridge Street, Stretton, for £630,000.

It is being sold by Abode sales and lettings and has six bedrooms and three bathrooms.

A spokesman for the estate agent said: “A stunning, fully renovated early 1900s period detached home located in the heart of Stretton.

“The current vendor has undertaken a full refurbishment project on this delightful three-storey home, offering versatile and deceptive accommodation. Much of the charm and internal character has been retained, whilst modern improvements complement the spacious high quality interior.”

The home starts with a reception hallway with an original Minton tile flooring, wide stair-case to the first floor with cloaks cupboard below, and period internal doors lead off to the two reception rooms.

The lounge is at the front of the house and has a walk-in bay window with the focal point being the living flame effect gas fire set within a decorative cast fireplace with marble hearth and original plaster coving to the high ceilings.

It also has a formal dining room with a walk-in bay window, living flame gas fire with decorative cast surround and an additional window to the side and original plaster coving.

At the back of the house is a modern living dining kitchen which offers a fully fitted kitchen with a comprehensive range of matching base and eye level wall units with white stone work surfaces, incorporating a Belfast ceramic sink with mixer tap with boiling water supply.

It has a range of appliances included within the sale, these are a Rangemaster 900 cooker with twin ovens, grill and induction hob with Rangemaster stainless steel extractor hood above.

A concealed dishwasher, washer dryer, fridge freezer and microwave conclude the list of kitchen appliances.

The main feature of the room is the living flame log fire set within a central chimney breast dividing the areas between the kitchen a living area, having French patio doors onto the extensive gardens.

The house also has a conservatory and ground floor bathroom with a contemporary white suite offering bath with an electric shower above it, fitted glass screen, hand wash basin and WC.

The first floor semi-galleried landing has stairs rising to the second floor, with internal doors leading to three double bedrooms.

They are all fitted with a selection of built-in wardrobes, and the two to the front of the house offer matching bedside drawers and overhead storage cupboards.

The bathroom offers a five-piece suite in white with a Jacuzzi spa bath, his and hers hand washbasins with built-in cupboards below and a walk-in double shower enclosure with pressurised shower straight from the gas combination boiler.

The office is a versatile space to be used either as a work from home base, or a seventh single bedroom.

The second floor has three further double bedrooms, each built into the eaves space exposing the roof beams bringing an element of period character to each of the rooms.

Central to the bedrooms is a fitted shower room.

The spokesman said: “Outside the home stands back from the road with an in and out block paved driveway with vehicle standing to both sides of the property.

“Secure gates lead to the extensive rear gardens with paved patio, various outbuildings with WC and tool store. Steps lead up to the lawn garden, with a detached workshop/ double garage located to the far rear elevation.”
