BURTON’S National Brewery Centre has announced a long list of forthcoming events as the UK emerges from lockdown.

Following months of closure due to the pandemic, the National Brewery Centre, in Horninglow Street, is set to welcome visitors back from Wednesday next week.

It has an interactive museum, a brewery centre bar and restaurant, a beer boutique and a café.

Visitors can take part in guided and self-guided tours from May 22, and the Escape Rooms Brewery Bandits from May 20.

A full events calendar has been scheduled, including tribute acts, comedy evenings, a toy fair, Oktoberfest, and a Peaky Blinders casino and dinner, although no date for the latter has yet been announced.

A tribute to Fleetwood Mac will perform on June 4, with a vintage culture festival on June 19 and 20 and Derby Concert Band performing Last Night of the Proms on September 24.

Following Government guidelines, the centre has put in place measures to keep staff and visitors safe from infection. Visitors to the bar and restaurant will be asked to give their details to comply with track and trace requirements. Sarah Tooley, general manager at the centre, said: “We’re really excited to be able to welcome back our visitors.

“We have so many entertaining events lined up with something for everyone and we’d welcome the support of beer lovers and their families who we know will enjoy visiting our museum.”
