Man who was struck by train near station is named by police

A MAN who was it by a train in Burton has been named as a date is set for his inquest.

Joshua Philip Buckenham was pronounced dead at the scene after British Transport Police were called to the line south of Burton Railway Station on May 29.

It has now been announced that the inquest into his death will take place at 10am on Wednesday, September 8, at Staffordsh­ire Coroners’ Court.

A British Transport Police (BTP) spokespers­on said at the time of the incident that BTP officers were called to the line, on Saturday, May 29 at 9.08pm, after a report that a man had been struck by a train.

The incident was treated as non-suspicious.
