ALL homes on a large new housing development in Burton have been sold, the developers have said.

They said buyers had snapped up the final few properties at the Henhurst Fields development, off Henhurst Hill. The final properties have been bought before being completed by families, who will move in once their new homes are finished.

A total of 160 homes are being built at the development with construction work nearing completion by housebuilder Bellway. The development will have 136 houses that have been sold privately and 24 affordable properties for local people through rent or shared ownership.

Heidi Higgins, sales manager for Bellway East Midlands, said: “Henhurst Fields has delivered a range of much-needed new homes for Burton and is already growing into a thriving new community. A mix of three-, four- and fivebedroom houses were provided to meet the needs of local buyers and the response from customers has been extremely positive.

“The development has proved popular with a wide range of buyers who have been attracted by the site’s attractive semi-rural setting

and proximity to Burton town centre. Easy access to the A38 has also been a big draw for people commuting to Leicester, Derby and Birmingham.

“One of the most satisfying aspects of our job is being able to share the excitement of our customers when they receive the keys to their new home. So far, we’ve welcomed 130 private buyers into their homes since we began building at Henhurst Fields in 2017 and we’re looking forward to handing over the keys to the final properties over the next few months.”

Construction work at Henhurst Fields is due to be completed at the end of this year.

As part of the planning agreement for the development given by East Staffordshire Borough Council, Bellway has handed over £2 million towards local services, such as doctors surgeries, schools, and infrastructure. The money includes a contribution of £1.5m for local schools.

Bellway has already said that the development has proved popular with workers at nearby Queen’s Hospital, while the fact that there are two schools rated outstanding by Ofsted in Shobnall Primary School and John Taylor High School within easy reach of the site had been a huge draw for families.

Bellway said Henhurst Fields “ticks a lot of boxes for commuters” being just over three miles to the A38 while Burton railway station is a fiveminute drive away.

The three, four and five-bedroom houses were priced at between £210,000 and £450,000.
