Firm extends its support to groups and clubs in the community
ENGINEERING company Briggs of Burton has continued to support a range of clubs and organisations through its community and sponsorship fund.
The firm established the fund last year during lockdown to help charities and local organisations, deliver much-needed support in the local community.
Since then, the company has supported a wide range of clubs and causes from children’s sports clubs, and engineering talks in schools to veteran charities and mental health.
Following recent successes, the scheme is now being extended into an annual fund where staff members can identify worthy causes to donate time or money to, in the local area.
Robert Buxton, managing director at Briggs of Burton, said: “Briggs has a long history in the town, with connections to the brewing industry and heritage going back over 285 years.
“The Community and Sponsorship Fund is our way of helping to give back to charities and clubs within our community.
“We have been really pleased by the support shown by staff who have identified clubs in their community who could benefit from support and are excited to continue the initiative going forward.
“It is great to lead a business with so many individuals with a giving spirit.”
Organisations that have already benefited since the fund started include Burton’s under 15s Rugby Club which received £500 sponsorship towards new kit and equipment to help the youngsters continue their training, as well as Woodville Rangers FC.
Mark Barrett, treasurer for Woodville Rangers FC, said the funding had been vital in helping the club support the young team.
