Glynn is new deputy fire chief

STAFFORDSH­IRE Fire and Rescue Service has announced its new Deputy Chief Fire Officer.

Glynn Luznyj takes up his new role on Monday after a 25-year career.

Glynn started off as a firefighte­r at Newcastle Fire Station in 1996 and spent the majority of the next decade stationed in the northern area of Staffordsh­ire as a firefighte­r and in other firefighti­ng roles.

In 2007, he was promoted to Station Manager and went on to become the Area Commander for Stoke-ontrent.

He became a director as part of the Principal Officer team in 2015.

Speaking of his new role, Glynn said: “Having lived in Staffordsh­ire all my life, I’m honoured to be appointed as Deputy Chief Fire Officer for Staffordsh­ire and I’m looking forward to both the challenges and the opportunit­ies that this role will bring. “We have a fantastic service that is delivered by some amazing people and ensuring their wellbeing is a key priority for me.

“I will work hard to support all of our people in order to deliver the highest level of safety, through prevention, protection, and response.” Rob Barber, Chief Fire Officer at Staffordsh­ire Fire and Rescue Service, added: “I am delighted to have Glynn Luznyj’s appointmen­t confirmed.

“Glynn brings a wealth of operationa­l and strategic experience, across all areas of the service. I’m looking forward to working together to deliver a fire and rescue plan that shapes Staffordsh­ire Fire and Rescue for the future, providing efficient and effective services to keep the people of Staffordsh­ire safe.”
