-

YOUNGSTERS at a housing development in Burton can now enjoy a brand new play area which was recently unveiled by a housebuilder.

The highly-anticipated facility at David Wilson Homes’ Drakelow Park development has given children at the now-sold-out Walton Road community something to look forward to and they are now free to have fun at the new play area which features a slide, swings and climbing apparatus.

Ben Derbyshire, contracts manager, and Daniel Hickson, assistant site manager (pictured) were on hand to mark the official completion of the play area to ensure it was ready for the younger residents at Drakelow Park.

The Local Equipped Area of Play (LEAP), located off Galloway Road, is specifically designed to include equipment for children who are beginning to go out and play independently close to where they live.

Rachael Harrison, sales director at David Wilson Homes East Midlands, said: “We have a number of young residents at Drakelow Park who will be eager to enjoy the new play area and we’re delighted to have delivered this brand new facility.

“In the current climate, attention has been drawn to the importance of having a wide range of useful amenities on the doorstep and we’re hoping the new play area will be a hit with families for years to come.

“We’re very proud of the community spirit at Drakelow Park and for couples with family planning in mind, the close proximity to local schools is a great reason to lay down some roots in Burton-on-trent.”

Drakelow Park, now sold out, is a community of three, four and five bedroom properties surrounded by beautiful countryside.
