Patch of empty land could see 30 homes built
FOUR-ACRE SITE IN WOODVILLE ON MARKET FOR £3M
THE new owner of a four-acre plot of land in South Derbyshire that has gone on the market for £3 million could build up to 30 homes on it.
The currently empty land is next to the large housing estate in Woodville around Hepworth Road.
Planning permission has already been granted for 30 detached homes by council planners. The site has been cleared ready for building work to begin.
There will be a dedicated access off Hepworth Road to the site.
The land is being marketed by commercial estate agents Rushton Hickman, which said in a report: “Situated on the outskirts of Woodville and within the National Forest, the residential scheme will provide the perfect balance of both rural and modern town living.
“Woodville has many amenities, including a garden centre, post office, library, doctor’s surgery, pharmacy, barber’s, 24-hour petrol station, cafes and takeaways.
“The charming nearby village of Blackfordby is just 0.7 miles away and has a bustling village hall, primary school and traditional pub.
“The site benefits from having outline planning permission approved for the erection of 30 contemporary architect-designed custom-built dwellings and supporting infrastructure.
“The approved application effectively allows the developer to build the properties to shell specification and the property purchaser select the external architectural vernacular from either timber, render or brick.”
Whenever building work starts, it will only add to the already congested Tollgate Island until the longed-for nearby bypass is opened.
