FOR A STABLE AND QUIET HOME

A PAIR of cats are desperately seeking a new home after being handed in to an animal shelter – and the good news is their vets’ bills will be paid for life.

The cats, called Bonnie and Clyde, are both 18 and ended up at Harley’s Hounds Animal Rescue centre in Whitebeam Close, Branston, which says it will pay for the medical bills for the moggies at Bright Side vets from now on.

The male and female pair are devoted to each other and looking for a new home after their former owner sadly could not care for them any more.

Initially, the cats would be quite timid, so they would need a quiet home, said a spokesman for Harley’s Hounds. The shelter would not be rehoming them in a house with young children either, he said. However, the female of the pair loves to be fussed, with the cats just needing care and love to find their feet, he said.

A spokesperson for the shelter said: “We are looking for a lifelong foster for two 18 year old cats, a male and female pair whose owner sadly couldn’t care for them any more.

“It’s always been just them. They haven’t been around other pets but are used to grandchildren. However, they’re both so timid initially that we wouldn’t be able to home them with young children.

“They’re both very timid, the female now is happy to have fuss and purrs at her emergency fosters, the male hides most of the time so we would love to get them settled into a quiet home now.

“They will need to visit Bright Side vets probably on more than one occasion, all their vets bills for life will be covered by us, their foster parent/parents will just need to provide food and litter and lots of love.”
