POLICE are investigating a report of two women damaging a van during a road rage incident on the A50 near Sudbury.

The incident is said to have happened on the busy roundabout on the dual carriageway and involved a grey Audi and a Volkswagen van.

Two women, in what is believed to have been a grey Audi tried to force a Volkswagen Caddy van onto the hard shoulder near to the roundabout for the A515 in Sudbury on Monday, January 10, at around 2.30pm, it was reported.

Both vehicles are thought to have stopped near to the roundabout on the A50 hard shoulder. Then it is said the women got out of the car and started to damage the van, said a police spokesperson.

It is not known if the women knew the van driver prior to the incident, they said.

Derbyshire Police has now launched an appeal to find the Audi, asking if anyone has any dashcam footage of the incident they should come forward.

The spokesperson said: “Two women, in what is believed to have been a grey Audi A4 (2011/12 plate), are alleged to have attempted to force a silver Volkswagen Caddy van into the hard shoulder. Both vehicles are thought to have stopped near to the roundabout, and the women are alleged to have got out of their car and damaged the van. The road is usually quite busy, and officers would like to hear from anyone who was driving in the area at the time and may have dashcam footage of the vehicles around the time of the incident.”

Anyone with information that could help the police is asked to call 101, quoting reference 22*18107.
