Venue exceeds Easter targets
A VISITOR attraction in the heart of the National Forest beat its visitor numbers target for the Easter period by more than 10 per cent.
During the spring break, families visited Conkers to enjoy the new Conkers Cove splash park attraction, the recently re-opened The Warrens experience and other interactive activities.
Conkers Cove splash park features interactive bubbling jets, a wooden pirate ship and other great water activities. All of the activities are powered by movement, so the more kids explore, the wetter they’ll get.
Another popular attraction is The Warrens, recently re-opened after closing during the pandemic. The Warrens is an underground experience featuring 70 metres of intersecting walkways, sound and light pods where visitors have to use their senses to make their way through the tunnels.
Nicky Carlton, general manager at Conkers, said: “It was brilliant to see so many families enjoying our newest attraction, the Conkers Cove, as well as other favourites such as The Warrens, the barefoot walk, the high-ropes and the activity trail.
“We had some lovely weather over Easter and many families made the most of it to enjoy a day with us. We’re looking forward to a warm summer and welcoming even more visitors for a fun day out.”
Conkers is based near Moira and offers a unique mix of indoor and outdoor experiences across 120 acres of maturing woodlands, lakes, ponds, play areas and an 18-stage assault course challenge. Indoors, a British Woodland has over 80 indoor interactive exhibits in four seasonal zones or visitors can experience the Enchanted Forest, climbing through the treetops and along rope walkways.
Conkers is managed by Planning Solutions Ltd on behalf of the National Forest Company.
