Julian Clary among stars at stately home over coming weeks

-

A DERBYSHIRE venue has announced a line-up of celebrities who will be heading to the county.

Live At Melbourne Hall kicked off yesterday and continues over the coming weeks with a number of stars set to make headline appearances – including comedian Julian Clary on June 16.

Today will see comedy club Just The Tonic putting on a range of performers for guests to enjoy. The inaugural show was headlined yesterday by Ed Bryne, and is followed today by David O’doherty, and Jonny Vegas tomorrow.

Other comedians set to take to the stage this weekend include Paul Mccaffrey, Tom Taylor and Hal Cruttenden. This comes alongside a number of other events which have been organised for Live At Melbourne Hall.

A new food event is set to take place next month. The Summer BBQ series will be held on the weekend of June 24 and 25, and will bring a number of celebrity chefs to the house to help cook up treats.

Some of those attending the event include Italian chef Gennaro Contaldo, who is best-known for teaching Jamie Oliver about Mediterranean cuisine, as well as Matt Prichard, author of the Dirty Vegan. Both will give a helping hand at the various food stations, helping to cook up a range of menus including meat and fish dishes.

Melbourne Hall stands in a picturesque setting. It is home to one of the most treasured historical gardens in the country and is the best surviving early 18th Century English garden in the manner of Andre le Notre.

Tickets start from £24.75 and can be purchased on the Melbourne Hall website.
