Leading Airman. HMS Daedalus II killed while flying on 11th June 1942 age 20. Son of Charles and Annie Gibson of Linton Road, Castle Gresley Derbyshire. LAC Gibson was accidently killed training in Canada.

BETTS, OLIVER BERESFORD:

Trooper. 4th Bn. Queens Own Hussars R.A.C. Killed in action on 12 th June 1942 age 28. Son of Thomas and Ada Betts, husband of Nellie Betts of Branston Road. MILLWARD, GEORGE:

Bombardier. 95 Anti-tank Regiment, Royal Artillery. Killed in action on 20 th June 1942 aged 22. Son of George and Clara Millward of Burton, husband of Nellie May Millward, Boddelwydd­an of Wales. BEESLEY. RALPH: Flt./lieut. RAF

Volunteer Reserve died on 26 th June, 1942 aged 43. Son of Mr and Mrs Henry Beesley, husband of Mary Beesley.

COCKAYNE, COLIN GEORGE: Sergeant (Wireless Op.) 23rd Operationa­l Training Unit, RAF Volunteer Reserve. Killed in action on 26th June 1942 age 28. Son of George and Gertrude Cockayne of Belvedere Road, Burton. HACKETT, RICHARD ARTHUR:

June 1942, age 32. Son of Thomas and Alice Hackett of Hawkins Lane. STARBUCK, LEONARD: Sergeant (Wireless Op./air Gnr) RAF Volunteer Reserve, killed in action on 26th June 1942 aged 26. Son of Jonathon and Florence Starbuck of Tutbury Road, Burton COX, WILLIAM JOHN: Private, Sherwood Foresters died as a prisoner of war on 27th June 1942 aged 37. Son of John and Fanny Cox, husband of Emily Fanny Cox of Knowles Hill, Rolleston-on-dove.
