New luxury spa just a short drive away is opening
A NEW luxury spa is set to fully open in South Derbyshire this month.
The Spa at Breedon Priory has seven state-of-the-art treatment rooms and includes several swimming pools.
The Spa is located in Wilson, near Melbourne, and just a 20-minute drive from Swadlincote for anyone wanting to pamper themselves. The venue is set in 24 acres of grounds and is surrounded by countryside.
The Spa is privately owned by South Derbyshire businesses owners Elaine and Graham Blunt, who say they have built the spa with sustainability and the environment as core principles and is “particularly mindful when it comes to water with its own water source”. The tranquillity gardens blend into the landscape offering guests a sanctuary to relax in yearround, they added.
Features include a large vitality pool and infinity relaxation pool, as well as an outdoor terrace with loungers and fire pit seated areas. Guests can also enjoy views over the wildflower pond.
The Spa also has a new “The Hideaway” facility, which is an intimate area for a private spa for a group of up to four people. Part of the experience at the hideaway includes exclusive treatments, a private lounge area, shower area and mini bar.
Other features in the main spa, which had its soft opening in October 2021, include a wellbeing suite of six thermal experiences and an ice fountain. There is also a pure relaxation room where guests can enjoy “post treatment tranquillity”.
The on-site terrace restaurant, with floor to ceiling glass windows, provides views over the spa garden and food made from regional ingredients sourced from local suppliers.
The seven treatment rooms include one dual room where guests can have a wide range of face, body and manicure/pedicure treatments.
Signature treatments include Tribe517 Breedon Priory Celestial Massage using warm sweet orange and honey blends and the nurturing Temple Spa Breedon Priory Soul Retreat.

“Every detail offers our guests somewhere to do nothing other than focus on themselves, family and friends; enjoy self-care treatments or indulge in a tailored, private treatment session that is not only a break from their usual routine, but also beneficial to their mental wellbeing.”
The Spa at Breedon Priory offers a choice of spa days starting from £85 for a morning or afternoon package.
