BURTON Albion have made their first signing of the summer with the arrival of attacking midfielder Davis Keillor-dunn.

The player has been released by Oldham Athletic following their relegation from the Football League.

Keillor-dunn, who is 24, scored 17 goals for Oldham in a struggling side last season and, for a midfielder, has a very respectable 28 goals from 105 appearances altogether across two seasons.

Sunderland-born, he played his first senior football in Scotland with Ross County after a youth career in which he did the rounds in the North-east, with Newcastle United, Sunderland Middlesbrough and Gateshead.

Keillor-dunn completed his medical in this country yesterday before flying out to join the Brewers’ pre-season training camp in Portugal.

“We’re happy to be signing Davis – he scores goals, gets assists and he’s especially done very well in the last year-and-ahalf to two years,” said manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

“I think we needed a bit more creativity up the top end of the pitch and we hope he can offer that for us.

“He can play all four positions up front, whether it’s wide or central. We know we can get him fitter and there’s still room for improvement with him.

“There was interest from elsewhere for his signature but it’s a good start for our summer business to get this type of player.”

Keillor-dunn said: “I’m delighted to get the deal over the line.

“Since hearing about the interest from the club and the manager, it really excited me. I see it as somewhere I can kick on and develop my football.

“I really enjoyed my time at Oldham and I’m very grateful to them for everything they have done for me.

“I feel that my time there has improved me as a player and allowed me to express what I can do. I believe that playing under the manager here will really suit me.

“He’s played at the top and that’s the experience I need to help develop my game.

“He has ambitions, like myself, and I think he’ll push me onto that next level.

“I’m buzzing to be here and can’t wait to excite the Brewers fans.”
