ROCKY ROAD!

-

A CRASH victim was airlifted to hospital after this collision closed a road for almost five hours.

The A497 was blocked in both directions near Pentrefelin, between Criccieth and Porthmadog, shortly after 1pm after the smash involving a red Mini Cooper and red motorcycle.

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokeswoman said one casualty was airlifted by Wales Air Ambulance to Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor. It was not clear whether anyone else was injured.

The spokeswoman added: “We were called to the scene at 1.15pm and sent one emergency land ambulance and an air ambulance. A person was airlifted to Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor.”

Traffic built up as motorists were diverted around the accident scene until the road reopened at 6pm.

Police are now appealing for witnesses. THERE’S bad parking and then there’s this. A stunned passer-by took this picture in disbelief of a car parked ON TOP of a rock in Caernarfon.

He said: “The man whose car it was was standing right next to it and said he didn’t see the big stone that he had parked on. In the end, he had to call a friend to help move it off.”

At Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor, an orange car was ditched across a box junction, while Tony Potter took a picture of a blue Ford Focus left in the middle of a Caernarfon road.

At Ysgol Pen Morfa, Prestatyn, a driver disregarded the need for the pavement outside the school while picking their children up.

And @WrexhamDaily posted a picture on Twitter of a man in a wheelchair struggling to get around cars at Wrexham Maelor Hospital. He wrote: “Disgusting parking causes disabled man to have to use the grass verge.”
