NEXT STOP NORTH WALES

-

HUNDREDS of thousands of travellers at London’s Euston station are seeing North Wales in all its glory thanks to a new advertising campaign.

Commuters using the UK’s sixth busiest train station are told ‘North Wales is waiting for you’ on an unmissable Transvision screen showcasing the region’s majestic mountains, rivers and beaches.

The slogan features over a video of images showing view- ers what North Wales has to offer in terms of adventure tourism, with clips of white water rafting, zip wires, surfing, mountain biking and climbing.

The advert, which is about to enter its second week on the JCDecaux’s Transvision screen at the heart of Euston station, is the idea of AdventureMap who has joined forces with Visit Wales for the campaign as part of the 2016 Year Of Adventure.

AdventureMap is the collection of nine businesses from the region that specialise in every kind of adventure tourism, including Beacon Climbing Centre, Dragon Raiders Activity Park, National White Water Centre, Oneplanet Adventure, Plas y Brenin, RibRide, SurfLines, Surf Snowdonia and Zip World.

Marketing manager Jo Quinney said: “North Wales is the capital of adventure tourism, so it’s natural we take our message to the UK’s capital city.

“The message is one that will speak to work-weary Londoners and we hope they will flock here in search of adventure, giving a great boost to the whole economy of the region.

“After a day pounding the pavements and riding the tube, the mountains, beaches, rivers and greenery of North Wales will be calling to weary commuters.

“And we want to remind them that our adventure destination is closer than they think – a Londoner could be here in a morning.

“Our range of mini breaks and adventures will provide inspiration and attract groups keen to experience activities such as coasteering, mountain biking, surfing, white water rafting and Europe’s longest and fastest zip wire, which all help to make North Wales the perfect escape from the grind of London.”

The advert closes with the hashtag #findyourepic that has been used in all Visit Wales’ advertising this year.

The AdventureMap project is part funded by Welsh Government.
