The WI has a Summer Fair on June 25 in the Abersoch Hall from 2-4pm. There will be the usual stalls of produce, crafts, books, plants and a raffle. Come along and see what activities the WI does. RNLI: On Thursday, 9 June, just as the Abersoch RNLI volunteers were arriving for their routine training evening, reports came though from Holyhead Coastguard of a speedboat out of fuel in St Tudwal’s Roads, with two people on board, a man and a boy. The inshore lifeboat, the Peter and Ann Setten was launched at 7.10pm and was on scene in a few minutes. A crew member boarded the craft, a line was attached from the lifeboat and a tow ashore was initiated. Twenty minutes later the casualty vessel was recovered on the Warren Beach. Then at 4pm on Saturday, 11 June the lifeboat was launched to the aid of a broken down speedboat at Porth Neigwl, approximately 1½ miles into the middle of the bay. The powerful Atlantic 85 lifeboat brought its four-man crew alongside in 16 minutes. A line was attached and the 21 foot casualty vessel, with its three occupants, was towed to the Warren Beach.
