T’AI CHI QIGONG: This gentle form of exercise is very effective for relaxation, health and well being and is suitable for all ages and abilities. MOTIV8’: To Make A Change For People With Mental Health Issues. An annual event for people experienci­ng mental health issues and those supporting them will be held on Thursday October 20 at the Brailsford Leisure Centre, Bangor. The ‘Motiv8’ event, now in its fifth year, is a multi agency initiative which aims to raise awareness of mental health issues with an emphasis on the benefits that being active and having fun can have on mental wellbeing. Motiv8 will give people the opportunit­y to take part in taster sessions in basketball, archery, pool, gym exercise, tai chi, dance, and climbing. Local and national services will be on hand to offer advice, guidance and support. The #Awalkinmys­hoes sponsored walk on Saturday August 13 begins at Caernarfon Castle before following a circular route along The Welsh Highland railway path to Dinas, and finishing back at Caernarfon.
