KNITTING AND SEWING GUILD: Is a group of ladies who knit babies to adults jumpers and toys and many sewn items too. It is open to the public every Thurs 2pm-4pm in the Church Hall when they sell these items. All monies go to local charities. PENRHOS VINTAGE RALLY: On Sunday August 7, an Open Day and Vintage Rally was held at the Polish Home Penrhos. It was opened by Councillor Angela Russell. There was a number of vintage vehicles, motor bikes and machinery; and guided walks around the village which used to be RAF Penrhos during the war; and has since become the Polish Home. Visitors had the chance to taste Polish and Welsh foods, listen to Polish music and see exhibits of war memorabili­a and old photos. The Friends of Polish Home- who organised the event; are grateful to all who contribute­d in any way to making the day a success. Around £2,000 was raised, which will all go towards the Residents of the Home’s amenities fund. The next event will be a Car Boot Sale on August 20, ring 01766-810075 for info.
