An annual event for people experienci­ng mental health issues and those supporting them, on Thursday October 20 at the Brailsford Leisure Centre, Bangor. Multi agency initiative to raise awareness of mental health issues with an emphasis on the benefits of being active and having fun on mental wellbeing. Motiv8 will give people the opportunit­y to take part in taster sessions in basketball, archery, pool, gym exercise, tai chi, dance, and climbing. Local and national services will be on hand to offer advice, guidance and support. The #Awalkinmys­hoes sponsored walk on Saturday August 13 begins at Caernarfon Castle before following a circular route along The Welsh Highland railway path to Dinas, and finishing back at Caernarfon. Jamieson-Evans@wales.nhs.uk GARDEN COMPETITIO­N: During the week commencing August 15, a person appointed by the Caernarfon Royal Town Council will visit council and private housing estates and the walled town to judge the best turned out front gardens, hanging baskets displays and window boxes. Back and side gardens, where visible will also be judged. The competitio­n will include public houses, B & Bs, hotels, cafes and restaurant­s and will be co sponsored by Fron Goch Garden Centre. Trophies, prizes and certificat­es will be presented by the Mayor at a ceremony in the Institute Building in the autumn. SINGING FOR FUN: Lleisiau’r Byd World Voices is a friendly and informal community choir. Meets every Wednesday in term-time 7.30 to 9.30 in the Jerusalem Hall in Cricieth. £5 a session, with first one free. The choir sings songs in a variety of styles and languages in glorious harmony.
