ABERSOCH WI: On Tuesda, October 18, it was the Olga Plate meeting, an annual Cookery Competitio­n . This year it was Flapjacks and was won by Barbara White. The November meeting on the 15th is the AGM, with Shirley Ellis coming to officiate. In December is the Christmas Lunch, instead of a meeting in the Hall. 2017 is the Centenary and one or two events have been planned. The WI meet in Abersoch Village Hall on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 2pm. After the business and the talk, entertainm­ent etc, we have a lovely afternoon tea sitting, chatting and catching up with news. Everyone is welcome to come and join in. RNLI: Abersoch RNLI Fundraisin­g Committee is delighted with the success of its two most recent fundraisin­g events. The Coffee Morning held in the Village Hall raised just over £2,000 and the Quiz Night held at The View, Abersoch raised £800. The Committee is most grateful to all those who supported these events and to the many businesses who generously donated prizes for the tombola and raffles.

YOUTH CLUB: Leaders John and Fflur offer a warm welcome to the young people of Bontnewydd and surroundin­g villages to participat­e in the club’s activities. The club is open every Tuesday and Thursday, 7-9pm, to students from Year Seven upwards. Activities scheduled this year include trips out of the club for Ice skating, Indoor Climbing, Ten pin bowling, visits to the cinema. There will also be a range of activities within the club including pool, table tennis, cookery, boxing punch bag and game consoles.
