Police ‘under attack on Christmas Day’

TWO North Wales Police officers suffered broken bones in the line of duty on Christmas Day, the police chief has revealed.

At least four officers were hurt on Christmas Day as a result of “being assaulted or through attending incidents”, said Chief Constable Mark Polin.

In a statement online, hee said the day was “generally peaceful” but officers were injured in “several incidents”.

“We really need to nip this issue in the bud. If people think they can get away with it, assaults on police will continue. We need to support our officers to enforce the law as robustly as it needs to be done.”
