Tales laced with jealousy and revenge

IN February, Opera and Ballet Internatio­nal proudly present two Ellen Kent production­s at Venue Cymru, Llandudno.

Both production­s have internatio­nal soloists, highly-praised chorus and full orchestra.

On February 9, Ellen Kent returns with a new production of Verdi’s Nabucco, the very first opera she ever produced.

Nabucco stars Olga Perrier, the internatio­nal French soprano, as Abigail.

Verdi’s haunting and melodic chorus of the Hebrew slaves, Va Pensiero, follows the plight of the Hebrews as they are forced from their homeland into exile by the Babylonian King Nabucco.

This powerful tale is laced with revenge, destructio­n and jealousy.

A spectacula­r traditiona­lly-staged production featuring magnificen­t sets and costumes with amazing lighting and stage effects which includes the burning down of Soloman’s temple with amazing light effects, flaming torches and an exotic dance sequence.

Nabucco is sung in Italian with English surtitles and promises to be an evening to remember. Cast is subject to change. influenced by the ancient Greek dramas of Euripides.

This new version of Aida symbolises the powerful religious hold of the priests of Egypt.
