Police officer hurt and staff member knocked out cold
A TEENAGER was arrested and later bailed following a Christmas Day pub brawl which left a police officer with serious injuries.
The incident is said to have taken place at the Newborough Arms in Bontnewydd near Caernarfon at about 9.30pm.
The brawl is believed to have started when a man who was refused service returned with several other men.
It’s understood that 10 police cars and two ambulances arrived at the pub after a man attacked a member of staff, who was knocked unconscious.
A police officer then suffered serious injuries.
A North Wales Police spokeswoman said: “A 17-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm and bailed pending further enquiries.
“A police officer has sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries.” ■ A man was tasered by police after a “large-scale disturbance” took place outside a pub.
The fracas at the Albert Inn, Caernarfon, erupted just after midnight on December 27.
North Wales Police rushed to the scene and officers fired a taser at a man, from the Caernarfon area, and then arrested him.
A police spokeswoman said just one man was arrested following the disturbance.
He has since been bailed.
