Recognition for RNLI stalwarts
UPON his retirement, RNLI volunteer crew member John Jones has been presented with a service certificate charting his eleven years of service at Porthdinllaen. John was presented by former Coxswain at Porthdinllaen, Captain Peter Jones.
John said: ‘I feel honoured to have been able to assist my fellow crew members at Porthdinllaen of carrying on the tradition of the RNLI. My fellow crew members at Porthdinllaen were like my extended family, I’m sure to pay them a visit every now and again. I wish to thank them all for their support and all the best for the future’
Keneth Fitzpatrick, Lifeboat Operations Manager at Porthdinllaen added: ‘ On behalf of everyone involved with Porthdinllaen Lifeboat Station, I wish to thank John for his dedication over the last 11 years and wish all the best for the future.
Also, three volunteer crew members at Porthdinllaen RNLI Station have been awarded after reaching a combined 80 year service at the station.
Second coxswain Robert Jones and Crew Member Geraint Humphreys have both served for 30 years, and Winchman Gwilym Jones reached his 20 year milestone recently. All three were presented recently by former Coxswain and Deputy Launching Authority at Porthdinllaen, Captain Peter Jones, with Robert and Geraint receiving a gold bar to their long service medal, and Gwilym with his long service medal in recognition of their service to the RNLI.
