THE NEW HOME OF LIVE MUSIC ON THE COAST

-

THE Station is the new destination for live music. The Station Hotel in Colwyn Bay is set to host a vibrant series of rock, blues and acoustic concerts in its upstairs venue room throughout 2017.

With a custom built stage, bar and room for seated and standing patrons, the Station Upstairs on the corner of Station Rd/Abergele Rd, is an ideal venue for live music fans.

The first concert being hosted by the venue takes place on February 24, with the highly acclaimed Led Zeppelin tribute band Zed Zeppelin treading the boards.

The band, formerly known as Mothership, features musicians from North Wales and Merseyside who recreate the music of the seventies classic rock giants with stunning accuracy.

The Zed boys deliver a two hour show featuring songs from every album the mighty Zep produced and use electric and acoustic instruments, keyboards and vocals to transport listeners back to the glory days of classic rock music.

Chris Price-White, who is artist liaison for Station Upstairs said of the new venture: “We aim to put on one or possibly two shows a month with mainly rock, blues and occasional acoustic acts.

“There are some truly amazing bands playing the live circuit currently and sadly not too many venues for them to showcase their talents in so this is why venues like The Station springing up can only be a good thing for working bands and the audiences that enjoy seeing them ply their trade,”

“Starting off the programme of events with Zed Zeppelin is a real bonus as they are a must see for any fans of the band.

“They cover all the aspects of Zeppelin’s music even showcasing some of the great acoustic songs from the Led Zeppelin Four album in their set,” added Chris.

Doors for Zed Zeppelin open at 8pm. Tickets available in advance from The Station at £8, or pay on the door at £10.

The second gig being hosted at the Station is on March 24, and will feature Liverpool classic rock band The Jokers. The band have recently secured a major management deal in Europe and are signed to German record label SPV.

Chris said “I’ve worked with The Jokers at other shows and believe me if you like good time, classic rock and roll music then you won’t be disappointed if you come along.”

Tickets for The Jokers are £6 each in advance or £8 on the door.

Future bookings will see Red Zephyr launch their new album, recorded for the Factory Fast label in New York on April 28, following on with shows by FM guitarist Jim Kirkpatrick and his blues/rock band Heavy Weather and popular Anglesey rockers Bad Dog and blues/rock band Bad Moon.

“The Upstairs at the Station is ideal for putting on live bands and is a great pub all round with superb ales and a varied and tasty pre gig menu board,” added Chris.
