To mark St David’s Day and Wales Air Ambulance’s 16th birthday, the Dinas Dinlle Café will be serving beautiful home-cooked meals, with the proceeds going to the Wales Air Ambulance Charity. Every day, the coffees, cakes and meals help to generate donations to fund the lifesaving helicopter charity’s operations, and since the café opened it has funded over 100 vital missions across the country. Victoria Williams, Caffi HEMS Manager, said: “A lot of visitors love coming here because they know that enjoying a cup of coffee or freshly prepared food at our café is going directly into helping to save lives. The café has panoramic views of the airfield so you can watch all the aircraft take off, including the Wales Air Ambulance going out on the missions you are helping to fund.” The Taste of Wales event, March 3, will serve a delicious selection of dishes, created from produce that has been sourced locally. The chefs at Caffi HEMS are serving classically Welsh cuisine with a modern twist, with all the proceeds from the three-course meal going to Wales Air Ambulance. Victoria added: “’HEMS’ means helicopter emergency medical service, which is the essence of what our crews do and what we fundraise for here in Wales, so it felt right to name our very first café after the incredible work of the pilots and medics.
