School’s spring clean raises funds

● A Caernarfon Primary School has come up with an ingenious idea to help raise donations for Wales Air Ambulance. Children from Ysgol Gynradd Beddgelert collected unwanted items and placed them into WAA Flight Bags, which were then kindly donated to Wales Air Ambulance charity shops to raise donations. The Welsh helicopter charity relies on kind donations to fund its lifesaving missions, needing to raise £6.5 million every year to keep its helicopters flying. The network of WAA shops across Wales, sells pre-loved items to raise the donations which fund the charity’s missions. Lynne Garlick, WAA Fundraising Manager, said: ‘We are incredibly grateful to the children of Ysgol Gynradd Beddgelert, who have come up with a great way to have a Spring Clean and raise donations which will help to save lives. Wales Air Ambulance is the only air ambulance service dedicated to serving people in Wales. We are on standby every single day of the year, ready to help anyone in Wales during their most difficult hour. An important part of our job is to run the Children’s Wales Air Ambulance. This is a specialist division of the charity because our youngest patients need a different range of treatments. The donations from the children at Ysgol Gynradd Beddgelert will help to save the lives of babies, children and adults across Wales – and we would like to say a huge thank you for their support.’
