Stu­dents are all win­ners

CO­LEG Meirion-Dwyfor’s Glyn­l­li­fon cam­pus was full to ca­pac­ity as its Prize-giv­ing Cer­e­mony for 2017 got un­der­way.

It pro­vided a chance to recog­nise the out­stand­ing achieve­ments of its learn­ers dur­ing the past aca­demic year.

The an­nual awards cer­e­mony is the day when the stu­dents can sit back and re­lax, pat them­selves on the back and en­joy them­selves after all the hard work they have put in.

Aled Jones-Grif­fith, As­sis­tant Prin­ci­pal (Plan­ning and De­vel­op­ment) Grŵp Llan­drillo Menai, who has re­spon­si­bil­ity for the Glyn­l­li­fon Cam­pus. said: “This is a proud day not only for our stu­dents, it is also a day when we can show the stu­dents that we are proud of their achieve­ments, too.”

The main award, Glyn­l­li­fon Stu­dent of the Year- John Tu­dor Award, was won by Caitlin Jones from Llan­faethlu on the Isle of Anglesey.

Caitlin stud­ied Agri­cul­ture at Level 3 and she also won the Learner of the Year Level 3 Award for her de­part­ment.

Other win­ners in­cluded: ● Dafydd Davies, from Bala won the Shear­ing Com­pe­ti­tion Prize for shear­ing with blades ● Lewis Jones, from Dol­gel­lau, won the Shear­ing with Ma­chine Prize ● Sioned Elin Wil­liams, from Llansan­nan in Den­bighshire, re­ceived Learner of the Year in an­i­mal care ● Fin­lay Wilson, from Treysgawen on the Isle of Anglesey, won the Coun­try­side Man­age­ment Learner of the Year ● David Good­child, from Llang­wril near Ty­wyn, was Land­based Stu­dent of the Year ● Madryn Parry Jones, from Llangefni, re­ceived the prize for Level 3 Equine Stud­ies Stu­dent of the Year ● Kia Gil­more, from De­ganwy, re­ceived the An­i­mal Man­age­ment Learner of the Year award ● Kate Slater, from Conwy, re­ceived a Stu­dent of the Year Award for Ve­teri­nary Nurs­ing.
