Students are all winners
COLEG Meirion-Dwyfor’s Glynllifon campus was full to capacity as its Prize-giving Ceremony for 2017 got underway.
It provided a chance to recognise the outstanding achievements of its learners during the past academic year.
The annual awards ceremony is the day when the students can sit back and relax, pat themselves on the back and enjoy themselves after all the hard work they have put in.
Aled Jones-Griffith, Assistant Principal (Planning and Development) Grŵp Llandrillo Menai, who has responsibility for the Glynllifon Campus. said: “This is a proud day not only for our students, it is also a day when we can show the students that we are proud of their achievements, too.”
The main award, Glynllifon Student of the Year- John Tudor Award, was won by Caitlin Jones from Llanfaethlu on the Isle of Anglesey.
Caitlin studied Agriculture at Level 3 and she also won the Learner of the Year Level 3 Award for her department.
Other winners included: ● Dafydd Davies, from Bala won the Shearing Competition Prize for shearing with blades ● Lewis Jones, from Dolgellau, won the Shearing with Machine Prize ● Sioned Elin Williams, from Llansannan in Denbighshire, received Learner of the Year in animal care ● Finlay Wilson, from Treysgawen on the Isle of Anglesey, won the Countryside Management Learner of the Year ● David Goodchild, from Llangwril near Tywyn, was Landbased Student of the Year ● Madryn Parry Jones, from Llangefni, received the prize for Level 3 Equine Studies Student of the Year ● Kia Gilmore, from Deganwy, received the Animal Management Learner of the Year award ● Kate Slater, from Conwy, received a Student of the Year Award for Veterinary Nursing.
